All pictures on this web site are property of the Fox Valley Star Riders and their members. All members and former members, including volunteers, have agreed, at the time the photo was taken, to be photographed. Thus, the person taking the picture is the owner of that picture.

The Constitution and the Federal Copyright Act provide copyright protection to authors for such original works as photographs. The creator of a photograph is thus the owner of the copyright.

The U.S. Constitution and the Federal Copyright Act give "copyright" protection to "authors" for their "original works," such as images and photographs. Among the protections that copyright owners have are the exclusive right to:

make copies of the work;
prepare other works based on the original;
Distribute copies of the work to the public by sale, rental, lease, or lending; and
to publicly perform and display the work

WHO OWNS WHAT?
The law says the "author" is the owner of the copyright. The author of a photo or image is usually the person who snapped the shutter or created the image. If you took the photo, you own the copyright. If a professional photographer took the photo for you, then he or she owns the copyright. If that photographer is an employee of a studio or other person in the business of making photos, then his or her employer is considered the author.

Any use by any non member or "author" is a violation of Federal Copyright Law. Reproduction or other use of these photographs is prohibitted without proper written consent of the Fox Valley Star Riders.
